Frederic Delano Grant, Jr., a Boston-based lawyer who holds a Ph.D. in history, will examine the legality, morality, economics and some lessons to be drawn from the international opium trade from 1700-1900 and more. Learn about the illegal distribution of opium in China by British and American merchants and meet colorful personalities in the trade, including some with ties to Newton.
