Using a groundbreaking technique that emphasized a light arm, Madame Margaret Stedman Chaloff became a sought-after teacher for classical as well as jazz pianists.

Join two of her former students, Stephany Tiernan of Berklee College of Music and author of the book Contemporary Piano Technique based on Chaloff’s methods, and Ran Blake of New England Conservatory, as they share their memories and address her remarkable musical legacy. In Newton, and later, in Boston, Chaloff worked with George Wein, Leonard Bernstein, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Kathy Rubbicco and many others.
