Journey to Greenland with Erica Ferencik
Event box
Join author Erica Ferencik as she discusses the origin story of her stunning new novel Girl in Ice. In the book, Val, an American linguist, is tasked to journey to a remote climate research center off the coast of Greenland where a girl has thawed from the ice - alive - speaking a language no one understands. Learn about Ferencik’s month-long research trip to Greenland, a place of almost incomprehensible size, phenomenal beauty, isolation, wildness and mystery.
Publisher’s Weekly gives Girl in Ice a starred review: “Trenchant details about catastrophic climate change bolster a creative plot featuring authentic characters…Ferencik outdoes Michael Crichton in the convincing way she mixes emotion and science.”
