Caring for Aging Vietnam Veterans

Join Jennifer Solomon, LCSW, for a program that will examine how the historical context of the conflict in Vietnam created a uniquely challenging set of psychosocial impacts for American veterans from all branches of service. Using the lens of military culture, she will consider how Vietnam veterans may have integrated their military experiences in light of the cultural and historical events of the time, and how that may present at end-of-life. The discussion will take into consideration moral injury, how it differs from PTSD and how both are particularly relevant to Vietnam veterans. This program is presented in partnership with Good Shepherd Community Care.

Founded as Hospice of the Good Shepherd in 1978, Good Shepherd Community Care is the original Massachusetts hospice. They focus on hospice and palliative care.
