Fall Hiking Tips From the Appalachian Mountain Club (Virtual)

Join the Appalachian Mountain Club's Bill Cannon and Sue Svelnis for an introduction to the wonderful world of hiking! From a gentle stroll through the woods to a challenging workout with lots of hills, there are so many ways to enjoy nature and so many great places to begin close to home. The AMC will lead you in choosing your adventure, and guide you with tips on what steps to take. Topics covered will include:

  • Types of hikes
  • Leave no trace and safety principles
  • Suggested local hikes

Bill Cannon and Sue Svelnis both lead hikes for the Southeastern MA Chapter of the AMC. Bill was the Conservation Chair and now holds the Vice Chair position. Sue is the chapter’s Education Chair. This program is cosponsored by Green Newton, Newton Conservators and the Newton Tree Conservancy.
