Join Newton artist Ellen Foust for an interactive conversation about her photography exhibit, Bullough’s Pond Cloudscapes: Seasonal Illuminations, on display for the month of May in the Newton Free Library. Ellen’s exhibit showcases 18 photos of Newton’s Bullough’s Pond taken from the exact same location over five years in all four seasons, all times of day, and all weather conditions. Learn about Ellen's artistic process and how her patience and keen observation enables her to see the same exact view of the pond in so many different lights! Bring your questions; there will be plenty of time for Q&A! Light refreshments will be served.

Ellen Foust is a mostly self-taught artist and iPhone photographer with a passion for teaching. She received an MA in art history from Rutgers University and took photography courses at the New England School of Photography and (currently) at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester. She teaches iPhone photography at the Brandeis Lifelong Learning Institute (BOLLI) and at LexArt (Lexington Arts and Crafts Society) in Lexington and is available for one-on-one and group private tutoring/mentoring.

Ellen’s bold, graphical award-winning photographs have been featured in group and solo juried exhibitions throughout the Boston area, including the Boston SoWa District’s TAG The Art Gallery, Fountain Street Gallery Annex, and Bromfield Gallery, and the Griffin Museum. Her photos have been exhibited throughout Newton, including at the Newton Free Library, City Hall, NewTV, The Allen Center, Keyes Drug, Newton Open Studios, the Suzuki School of Music, and the Fence Art Project.
