We're celebrating Banned Books Week with friendship bracelets that say things like 'Free to Read' or "Read Banned Books." Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. The censorship of books continues to this day in many schools, libraries, and bookstores around the country. This year's Banned Book Week starts Sunday, October 5th and ends Saturday, October 11th. Each kit will come with the option to make two separate bracelets. For those in grades 5-12. Pick-up will start Monday, October 6th at 11am. Folks can pick them up at any time after 10/6 while supplies last.
