Colors of Spring: Indian Dance Performance
Event box

Join Swati Biswas and her fellow dancers for a performance celebrating spring. This is a season to embrace newness and youth, and the loving, nurturing emotions that accompany it. The performers will present several dances based on Indian music to depict the nature and beauty of spring, the famous festival Holi, and a Sufi devotional song.
Swati Biswas is a trained Indian classical and creative dancer and a passionate advocate for the promotion of folk arts from across India. Combining her expertise in dance with a deep appreciation for the visual arts, she has forged connections with painters and weavers to create costumes and sets for her performances. As a dancer, she has performed at diverse venues, captivating audiences with her performances. As a recipient of a Mass Cultural Grant, she organized and directed a program in which 35 artists performed. She has also served as an artist-in-residence for the Mount Auburn Cemetery's 2023-2024 cohort and continues to explore innovative ways to intertwine art with community engagement.
