Newton Art Association Awards Show Reception

Newton Art Association is proud to exhibit the 2024 Newton Art Association’s Annual Awards Show. Each year, NAA membership (250+ members) is offered a non-juried show for the first 50 members who enter. This show represents a broad spectrum of talent from local artists of all levels and represents a variety of two-dimensional and small three-dimensional media.

There will be an Awards Presentation Reception on Thursday, September 12 from 7-8pm, where the NAA will present several named awards and winner placement awards.

The Juror for this exhibit is Aimée Burg. Aimée holds a BFA from Pratt and MFA from Yale (both in Sculpture) and is a builder and developer of objects, people, and communities. She spent a decade as co-director of Art Lot, an outdoor exhibition space in Brooklyn. She is the founder of the nature-based Zero Foot Hills artist residency, in Durham CT and is the current Gallery Director at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art in New Haven, CT.

About Newton Art Association: The Newton Art Association seeks to encourage the appreciation and expression of fine arts to its membership and the Newton community. It is an organization of over 250 active artists and art enthusiasts, representing all branches of the visual arts, from drawing to sculpture. The majority of members live in Newton, nearby cities, and elsewhere in New England. The NAA was founded in 1949 by the late James King Bonnar and a small group of artists who felt that artists needed the support of each other to share ideas, techniques and opportunities to paint together.

Newton Art Association is committed to maintaining an environment that nourishes respect for the dignity of each member. NAA will proactively seek to achieve diversity and cultural equity in its leadership, partnerships, and programs.
