Introduction to Sowing Summer Seedlings

Summer seedlings are still blooming in the gardens of New England. Come join Sowing Summer Seedlings for an introduction to 12 varieties of flowers and vegetables that are still viable for this season's harvesting - and plant your own miniature seedling kit!

About the presenter: Suzie Canale is a Massachusetts Librarian who specializes in cultivating interest, education and skill building for gardening enthusiasts looking to grow their green thumbs! Suzie found her passion for botanicals beginning at a young age where she worked in a family wholesale floral company located in the city of Boston. After receiving her MLIS, she continued to share her knowledge of agriculture by establishing the "Living Library" collection which focuses on providing horticultural resources through informative material including books, programming, seed catalogs and a "Garden of Things." She has presented the Living Library concept at both the Massachusetts Library Association Annual Conference (2023) and the New England Library Association Annual Conference (2023).
