Take & Make: Banned Book Bracelets
Event box
We're celebrating Banned Books Week with friendship bracelets that say things like 'Free to Read' or "Read Banned Books." Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. The censorship of books continues to this day in many schools, libraries, and bookstores around the country. This year's Banned Book Week starts Sunday, October 1st and ends Saturday, October 7th. Each kit will come with the option to make two separate bracelets. For those in grades 5-12. Pick-up will start Sunday, October 1st at 1pm. Folks can pick them up at any time after 10/1.
